November 2025 Newsletter

Dear Coaches,

As the year draws to a close, we have three key updates we want to share with you.

1) Strengthening Our Community: Introducing the ICF Southwest Chapter

Last week, Members were informed about our initiative to merge ICF New Mexico and ICF Arizona into a single, unified ICF Southwest Chapter. This partnership is designed to enhance programming, consolidate operations, and create more opportunities for connection throughout our region, all while preserving the distinct culture and community of coaching in New Mexico.

If you missed the initial communication, you can access it here.

We’ve also prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) . Over the coming weeks, we will provide more details on the transition and updates to clarify how membership, events, and leadership opportunities will be managed moving forward.

2) Your Voice Matters: Complete the Member Survey

Please take five minutes to complete our brief member survey if you haven't already. This is your opportunity to let us know your thoughts on the transition to ICF Southwest, and directly informs our plans and priorities.

3) Save the Date: December 10 Holiday Celebration!

Leveraging both the Scrappy and the Skilled Use of Polarities in Coaching

Date: November 18, 2025
Time:
11:00am-12:30pm MT (1:00pm-2:30pm ET)

Bold and humble; task and relationship; support and challenge:  These are polarities. Capitalizing on polarities in coaching is a superpower and can evoke meaningful awareness with clients.  Without training, however, implementing this skill can feel intimidating.  Join this session with Cathy Carroll, MCC to deepen your understanding of how to frame a polarity and improve your coaching skills.  Through stories, Cathy will demonstrate how to use the very basics of polarities in both individual coaching and team coaching, and then she’ll recommend a variety of resources to facilitate coach growth from scrappy to skilled in this important coaching skill.  No experience in polarities necessary.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • The role of understanding polarities in coaching

  • How polarities create blind spots for clients

  • How to mentally and emotionally prepare to help clients deepen their self-awareness

  • How to leverage polarities to evoke client awareness

Tickets:
