Membership Vote Approved!

We're Transitioning to the Southwest Chapter
of the International Coaching Federation

Dear Members, Coaches, and Friends,

I am pleased to share that ICF New Mexico Members have approved a resolution to join forces with the Arizona Chapter, uniting under a new Southwest Chapter of the ICF. Together, our regional chapter will represent over 500 coaches across Arizona and New Mexico, connecting us as a vibrant and growing coaching community.

Thank you to our Members who voted by proxy or participated in last night’s Special Members Meeting. The vote was unanimously in favor of the regional consolidation and voluntary dissolution of the ICF New Mexico Chapter. This was a significant and thoughtful decision, and we are deeply grateful for the engagement, trust, and care our Members brought to this process.

Earlier today, the ICF New Mexico Board of Directors submitted formal notice to ICF Global of our intent to surrender the New Mexico Chapter Charter and to transfer members to the Southwest (Arizona) Chapter, in accordance with the ICF Chapter Agreement and the approved Member resolution.

What to Expect Over the Next Few Months

Join us for a Chapter Meeting and New Member Welcome

Thursday, January 22 at 5:30 – 6:30 MT

ICF Arizona holds quarterly chapter meetings that include a New Member Welcome, and we will continue this tradition as the Southwest Chapter. We invite our Members and Associates to join the next event - our first official gathering as a united chapter. Use the above Registration button to sign up, and select the NM Member registration type to bypass login requirements. We hope to see you there!

Chapter Name & Branding

The Arizona chapter is in the process of legally changing its name and corporate documents to the Southwest Chapter of the International Coaching Federation. This process may take one to two months to complete. During this transition period, you may see communications, branding, or references that still reflect “Arizona.” Please know this is temporary, and all chapter materials will transition to “Southwest” as legal and branding updates are finalized.

Chapter Membership Affiliations

Global Members: Tomorrow, January 8, ICF Global will officially change the chapter affiliation for all New Mexico Global Members to the Southwest (Arizona) Chapter. This will happen on the back end, and you do not need to do anything further. Your Global Membership account and your Engage community profile will reflect the change in chapter affiliation.

New Mexico Associates and Student Associates: our admin team will transfer Associates to the Southwest (Arizona) chapter by the end of January.

There are no additional fees associated with this transition. Arizona and New Mexico operate with identical membership and associate structures.

Database & Mailing List Changes

Global Members, Associates, and general mailing lists will be added to the Southwest (Arizona) chapter database in the coming weeks. This is a manual process so please bear with us!

Once Member and Associates records are migrated, you will receive an email invitation to the Southwest (Arizona) member portal with a username and password. Arizona uses the same system (Club Express) so it should look familiar. When prompted, please log in and review your profile, update your password, communication preferences, and privacy settings.

Important: Please do not opt out of the system and communications if you wish to receive Southwest Chapter newsletters, communications, event confirmations, etc. Opting out will prevent us from communicating with you.

Workshops and Event Registrations

Visit the ICF Arizona Event Page to view and register for 2026 programs. Arizona has a robust calendar of programs already scheduled - bringing new learning and networking opportunities to our community.
Arizona is currently adding NM Member registration types to enable New Mexico coaches to register at the member rate. This may take a few days to complete. This is a temporary bridge - once your record is in the Arizona/Southwest database, you will be able to login and register as a chapter member.

Please note:
- Event registrations will no longer be processed through the New Mexico website.
- If you previously registered and paid for a 2026 workshop through ICF New Mexico, your registration will be transferred and honored.

Governance

The New Mexico Board remains in place to complete all necessary actions to wind down our chapter's business affairs and financial accounts, and to formally dissolve the corporation. We are working closely with ICF Global, ICF Arizona, and legal counsel to ensure all requirements are met and that the chapter is closed in full compliance with applicable laws, bylaws, and the ICF Chapter Agreement.

Meanwhile, we are working closely with the Arizona chapter to launch the Southwest chapter board and committees. For 2026 - our critical integration year - we have designed a co-director leadership model that ensures representation from both Arizona and New Mexico.

In 2026, five New Mexico leaders will serve in the following roles: Co-President Elect, Co-Director of Membership Experience, Co-Director of Professional Development, Co-Director of Communications & Marketing, and Co-Director of Outreach and Partnerships. These leaders are committed to representing New Mexico's interests and supporting a successful regional integration.

A detailed board and committee chart is available in the Special Meeting Slide Deck..

Volunteer Opportunities!

The success of our regional integration depends on volunteer engagement. We are actively recruiting for the following volunteer positions:
- Professional Development Co-Director (board position)
- Member Experience Ambassadors (locations throughout New Mexico)
- Volunteer Coordinator- New Mexico
- Professional Development Team Members
- Communications & Marketing Team Members
- Partnerships & Outreach Team Members (includes Social Impact)

Please reach out to president@icfnewmexico.org to learn more about any of the above roles. This is a great year to get involved - help us shape the future together!
